What is the price of construction timber?

It is worth knowing that construction timber is generally divided into two main types. The first is the so-called solid wood. The second one is glued laminated timber. Window structures will most often be made of glued laminated timber. What does the price of construction timber depend on? Well, the price of this construction material will depend on many criteria. First of all, the price of wood will depend on its class. There are various classes of construction wood and you should be aware of this. If we are going to build a house, it will be necessary to purchase wood of first or second quality. The third quality class will be used in the construction of the so-called roof truss. According to another division, there are classes c14 and c24. The c14 class is a bit cheaper.

The net price for 1 m3 may be around PLN 1,350. The net price for 1 m3 of C24 class construction timber may be around PLN 1,380. The difference may seem relatively small, but if we buy a large amount of construction timber, it can be of considerable importance. Before we decide to buy construction timber of a specific class, it is necessary to realize where we can buy such timber. It is best to look for purchase opportunities close to where you live. Then the delivery costs will be much lower. It is also worth looking through a few or even a dozen different offers before making a purchase. Each sawmill may have a slightly different price list. It would also be great to read the reviews of the various sawmills. The greater the number of positive feedback,the greater the chances of finding good quality construction timber at a reasonable price.

What else is worth remembering?

It would be great to know the properties of the various types of construction timber. It is worth noting that pine and spruce wood are most often used. As for pine wood, it is characterized by considerable durability. There is no doubt, however, that it is also quite soft and resilient wood. So you can prepare durable and decent beams from it. As for the spruce. it is much less popular than the aforementioned pine. This is not surprising, because in forests spruce tree is not as popular as the aforementioned pine. Moreover, the spruce wood is very knotty. This makes its processing much more difficult. Fortunately, spruce wood is also resilient.

For this reason, it has been used in construction.First of all, it is used to make so-called roof battens. Larch is another wood used in construction. It has the greatest hardness, which is its big advantage. It is also resistant to moisture. Terrace boards are commonly made of it. Stairs are also often made of this wood. Fir is also a building material, although much less popular than the already mentioned pine or spruce. It is very springy. It contains a relatively small amount of resins, so remember to impregnate this type of wood.
